People Can Be Allergic to Herbal Supplements |

I have been taking herbal supplements for a year or so to help with my allergies and they do work pretty well. The antihistamines make me really sleepy, so I decided I would take herbal supplements daily to see if they would help with knocking down the allergies to pollen that I have. They do work. That is such a relief, too. They don't make me thirsty, like the over the counter drugs do, and they are not expensive, either. Herbal supplements are great ways to avoid nasty side effects from drugs and many people are discovering that they work pretty well. Ironically, one of my allergies is to tea tree oil. I am religious about checking each of the herbal supplements I use to make sure that there is no tea tree oil in them. It gives me a serious rash that turns red and itches like crazy. Tea tree oil should never be used internally, which is something I just learned. Most herbal supplements are safe, but one's body chemistry could send up a red flag, so if you start taking a supplement and have an ill-effect, discontinue using it. |
