Qigong is workout routine that will revitalize your spirit while you build muscle. Have you heard of it before? I hadn't until just recently. It is pronounced "chee gung." This practice costs nothing and can take place in an exercise studio, your home or your backyard. All that you need to build muscle is your body and your breath.
To begin a qigong workout you stand with your joints and muscles comfortably relaxed, feeling your belly expand and contract with each breath. Qigong works with life energy to improve health and a sense of well being. You probably have heard of T'ai Chi before, it is a popular form of sports qigong. I have been able to build muscle with this workout by doing such body movements known as the crane, bear, monkey and tiger.
Classes will open with exercises designed to cleanse the body of toxins. Next, the movements are done to gather up a reservoir of energy so it can later be circulated to the stagnant or diseased parts of the body. The practice of qigong will cleanse and circulate life energy throughout the body while you build muscle and strength. I have found it to be a good choice to bring everything into balance and obtain optimal health. |
